Black Panther remains box office royalty!
Marvel's African superhero sustained his startling success as BLACK PANTHER kept the top spot for a fourth weekend with an estimated $41.1 million!
With a domestic total of $562 million, T'Challa and his colleagues have surpassed the $534 million finish of THE DARK KNIGHT to become the seventh highest-grossing release in history.
The Wakandan king continues to generate currency around the entire planet, bringing BLACK PANTHER's worldwide total to $1.07 billion (including $66 million from its debut in China this past weekend).
Disney ended up competing with itself due to BLACK PANTHER's ongoing dominance, and their new fantasy A WRINKLE IN TIME opened in second place with $33.3 million.
Originally set for an April release before its March move, the adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle's popular novel from director Ava DuVernay (SELMA) cost a reported $100 million.

Opening in third place was the new horror movie THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT with $10.4 million.
The R-rated sequel, this time directed by Johannes Roberts (47 METERS DOWN), cost a reported $5 million. The 2008 original opened to $20.9 million and went on to $52.5 million domestic and $82 million worldwide.
Critics didn't give a warm welcome to the murderous masked trio, giving their return a 38% average on Rotten Tomatoes. The JoBlo review is knocking right HERE.
The R-rated Jennifer Lawrence spy thriller RED SPARROW shifted to fourth with $8.1 million, a drop of 51% from its opening last week. The $69 million adaptation from director Francis Lawrence has a ten-day domestic total of $31.1 million and a worldwide total of $82.9 million.
In fifth place was the R-rated Jason Bateman/Rachel McAdams comedy GAME NIGHT with $7.9 million on its third weekend, bringing it to a domestic total of $45 million and a global total of $69.7 million (on a $37 million reported cost).
The animated/live-action PETER RABBIT was in sixth with $6.8 million as it hops toward the $100 million domestic mark on its fifth weekend in theaters.
Director Eli Roth's remake of DEATH WISH reloaded in seventh with $6.6 million. The R-rated Bruce Willis action-drama dipped by 49% from last week's opening for a ten-day domestic total of $23.8 million (on a reported cost of $30 million).
Opening in eighth place was the new PG-13 thriller THE HURRICANE HEIST with $3.1 million.
The $35 million action flick from director Rob Cohen (XXX, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) couldn't stir up much audience interest — despite hitting 2400 locations, its per-screen average was barely above that of JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE on its twelfth weekend in theaters.
Critics weren't blown away by the bad-weather caper, giving it a 33% average on Rotten Tomatoes (the JoBlo review is HERE).
Alex Garland's sci-fi movie ANNIHILATION was in ninth with $3.1 million for a domestic total of $26 million just before it streams on Netflix for international viewers.
JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE closed out the list with $2.7 million. After three months in release, the $90 million adventure still edges toward $400 million domestic even as it arrived on VOD this past week.
Outside the chart, Hugh Jackman's THE GREATEST SHOWMAN finally danced out of sight along with sequel FIFTY SHADES FREED and drama EVERY DAY. Despite the presence of David Oyelowo, Charlize Theron and Joel Edgerton, the new R-rated comedy GRINGO couldn't crack the Top 10 with $2.6 million on 2400 screens. In limited release, the dramatic thriller THOROUGHBREDS (one of Anton Yelchin's final appearances) earned $1.2 million.
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro's THE SHAPE OF WATER took advantage of its Oscars to swim away with another $2.1 million, bringing the unconventional romance to $61 million domestic and $148 million worldwide.
Next weekend has the latest adaptation of videogame TOMB RAIDER with Alicia Vikander, plus the thriller 7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE and the romcom LOVE, SIMON.
