THE 15:17 TO PARIS tells the harrowing story of three Americans who stopped an attack while on a train in France. To recreate this incredible and heroic tale, director Clint Eastwood made an unusual choice. Not only do we get to see the story based on the book by the three real life heroes, he actually cast the three Americans to portray themselves. Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos not only survived this terrifying conflict and saved many passengers lives, but they’ve written about it, and now they are starring in their own adventure.
At the junket for the film, we had the incredible opportunity to chat with Stone, Sadler and Skarlatos. Not only were these three gentlemen incredible to talk to, they also had a whole lot of excitement to bring in promoting the new film. They talked about reliving the train ride by writing the book, and starring in the film. And they opened up about how Eastwood approached them to portray themselves. It’s always wonderful to talk to somebody who truly made a difference, and these three certainly did just that.
Next up, we spoke to the fantastic Jenna Fischer, who portrays Alek’s mom. During our conversation, she discussed playing a mother, and how she was able to bring her own parenting experiences into the film. She also talked about working on this project, and the very unique casting. It was an absolute pleasure to talk to everyone involved. Whether you’re familiar with this real life tale of heroism or not, Mr. Eastwood has figured out how to make it even more special thanks to the real life heroes involved. THE 15:17 TO PARIS opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
