We Talk Outlander season 4 with Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe and More!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

One of the most impressive things about Outlander, the hit series on Starz, is the balance of romance with a brutal edge. With last nights premiere of season four called “America the Beautiful,” Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) have found themselves early settlers in the United States of America. It is a powerful episodes that reminds the couple that a fresh start can bring terrible luck. Four seasons later and the series still remains as rich and gorgeous, as well as intense and powerful, as it did in the beginning.

Recently, we had the opportunity to speak to the stunning cast of Outlander. As a fan of the series, it was a real pleasure to talk with both Sam and Caitriona about the further adventures of Jamie and Claire. They discussed how the series approaches history in a fresh and unique way, thanks to Claire’s time traveling and her knowledge of what the world becomes. Sam opened up about playing a Highlander, and how ‘Jamie’ has grown along with ‘Claire’ as they expand the series to a brave new world. It’s no surprise they have such wonderful on-screen chemistry when you meet these two delightful people who are clearly still enjoying their time on the series.

As well, we spoke with the ridiculously charming Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin. While both Jamie and Claire are trying to build their lives in the US, Claire’s daughter Brianna Randall Fraser is living in the the early Seventies. Richard’s Roger Wakefield – her boyfriend – has old-fashioned views on relationships and wants to settle down with Brianna. The two actors spoke of taking on a more modern storyline. And then the conversation turned to music, and apparently one song that Richard plays in the series became a very familiar tune to Sophie. These two couldn't have been nicer.

?Not only is the cast of Outlander terrific, the series continues to be a thrilling look at history, with a ridiculously strong romance at its center thanks to Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. Outlander, season four, began yesterday and will air new episodes every Sunday. If you’ve never watched this lush, gorgeous and brutal series, I highly recommend stepping back in time and giving it a look.
