We Talk Ingrid Goes West & social media with Aubrey Plaza & Elizabeth Olsen

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In the new feature INGRID GOES WEST, Aubrey Plaza plays a lonely young woman desperate to find friendship via social media. Directed by Matt Spicer, the film also stars the very talented Elizabeth Olsen as the object of Plaza's affection. This dark comedy explores the awkward obsession that many people develop on someone they don't personally know, and it gets pretty intense. There is a lot of funny here, but it is also an intriguing examination on the impact of social media – the need to be talked about can be very damaging for some.

Recently we spoke with both Plaza and Olsen about the film. The two discussed their own views on Instagram and the like, as well as their own reaction to this sharp script written by Spicer and David Branson Smith. Both actors are terrific, and it is nice to see Elizabeth Olsen take on more comedy. During our discussion we also talked about some of the darker comments online, and whether or not they actually read any of them. If you are looking for something unique this summer, be sure to check out the incredibly talented Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen in INGRID GOES WEST.
