With the holidays coming up, many of us will be spending our time with the family. And in the new comedy FATHER FIGURES, both Ed Helm and Owen Wilson are looking for their real father in hopes to find out exactly who dear old mom hooked up with. With Glenn Close as mom, and J.K. Simmons, Christopher Walken and Terry Bradshaw as possibly dads, the two end up on a wild comedic adventure. And just to add a little more humor, the very talented Katt Williams gives the fellas some company for the ride.
At the junket for the film, I had a great time chatting with both Owen and Ed. When I stepped into the room, Mr. Wilson was setting up a laptop to see the big football game, while Ed and I discussed our own take on the sport. During the interview itself, the two talked a little football, and Helms bonding so heavily with the legendary Bradshaw. The two also talked about their real life siblings and how that prepared them for all sorts of things as an actor. These two guys are genuinely funny, and it was a real pleasure sitting down with them once again.
Next up we sat down with Katt Williams who told me all about being tied up for much of his time on-screen. And more importantly, the fact that the writers didn’t go for the obvious with his character. The movie is all the better for it. Afterwards, we spoke to the film’s director, Lawrence Sher. Considering he has had quite the successful career as a cinematographer, he talked about taking this particular project on for his feature film debut.
FATHER FIGURES opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
