We Summon the Darkness, starring Alexandra Daddario, coming to disc in June

The Satanic Panic horror film WE SUMMON THE DARKNESS received a Digital HD and VOD release last Friday, April 10th, and last night I had a good time watching the movie with the friends I'm in isolation with. Arrow in the Head's own The Iceman gave the film an 8/10 review, and that's the same number rating I would give it. So this is definitely a movie I would be interested in adding to my collection of physical media – and for those of us who still prefer having movies on disc, there's some good news to share: Lionsgate has announced that they will be releasing WE SUMMON THE DARKNESS on DVD and Blu-ray on June 9th.

From "the wild mind of screenwriter Alan Trezza", WE SUMMON THE DARKNESS is set in 1988, when

the killing spree of murderous Satanists has already led to 18 deaths throughout America's Heartland. Three best friends Alexis, Val and Beverly embark on a road trip to a heavy metal music festival. Naive, they bond with three seemingly fun-loving dudes and soon the group heads off to Alexis' country home, a very secluded place, for an afterparty. What should be a night of fun and youthful debauchery may instead take a dark, deadly turn. With killers on the loose, can anyone be trusted?

Alexandra Daddario, Maddie Hasson, Amy Forsyth, Keean Johnson, Logan Miller, Austin Swift, and Johnny Knoxville star.

The DVD and Blu-ray release will include these special features:

– “Envisioning Darkness” Featurette

– Commentary with Director Marc Meyers and Writer Alan Trezza

If you don't want to wait for the DVD/Blu release to watch WE SUMMON THE DARKNESS, the film is available for rent or purchase on Amazon Prime Video.
