At TIFF this year, I was given the opportunity to see PROFESSOR MARSTON & THE WONDER WOMEN (read my review HERE), a film about Wonder Woman creator Dr. William Moulton Marston (played by Luke Evans). A story not only about the creation of the character, it’s also a unique, unconventional love story charting his three-way relationship with his wife, Elizabeth (Rebecca Hall) and prized pupil, Olive (Bella Heathcote). It’s one of Annapurna’s first major pick-ups, and given the positive reception at TIFF, and the fact that it highlights a heroine who’s truly had a zeitgeist year, and involved are eager for it to come out – which it does this Friday.
I was lucky enough to see down with stars Luke Evans, Bella Heathcote and writer/director Angela Robinson, all of a whom had interesting takes on their film’s relationship to Patty Jenkins’s WONDER WOMAN, and it’s status a refreshingly unconventional look at sexual politics.
