We Interview Jessica Chastain, John Lithgow and more for Miss Sloane!

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Jessica Chastain is quickly becoming one of the most exciting talents in Hollywood. From her terrific work in INTERSTELLAR and A MOST VIOLENT YEAR she continues to impress in a new feature directed by John Madden. This time she is taking on politics with her latest, MISS SLOANE. In the film, Ms. Chastain is the title character and she is fantastic. She plays a ruthless lobbyist who makes what could be a career damaging choice when she gets involved in an intense battle revolving around gun legislation.

We recently had the opportunity to speak to this incredible cast about the new film, and this is definitely an impressive group of actors. Jessica Chastain is always wonderful to talk with, as is her co-star Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and this time of course was no exception. The two discussed taking on a movie that may not have featured an actress in the leading role had this been made ten years ago. They opened up about just how driven the character of Miss Sloane is, and the joys of playing a character so unafraid of taking chances.

One of my favorite actors growing up was the great John Lithgow. Sitting across from this amazing actor was especially satisfying. He discussed just how quickly he jumped on board to be a part of this project. He talked about going head to head with Miss Chastain, and trust me when I say every single time the two actors square off, you can’t take your eyes off of them. Mr. Lithgow also talked about working with director John Madden and what he felt he brought to the feature.

Finally, we spoke to both Alison Pill and Jake Lacy. The two actors – in separate interviews – opened up about working on this particular film. While Jake talked about finding on-screen chemistry with Jessica, he also let us in on the intimate nature of those scenes. Ms. Pill – who is no stranger to politically charged stories – talked about working in a film like this headlined by an actress like Ms. Chastain. This is a terrific cast, and they all are excellent here.

If you're a fan of Jessica Chastain, you won’t be disappointed with MISS SLOANE which opens this weekend at a theater near you.
