When 2021 arrives to rescue us all from this hellish year it's bringing some superheroes along for the ride. Netflix has unleashed the first teaser for WE CAN BE HEROES, the next adventure spinning out of Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids Universe. Directed and written by Rodriguez, We Can Be Heroes features YaYa Gosselin, Pedro Pascal, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Christian Slater, Boyd Holbrook, Christopher McDonald, and Adriana Barraza for a display of action and superpowers that looks as visually dazzling as it does exciting!
Here's the official logline:
When alien invaders kidnap Earth’s superheroes, their children must team up and learn to work together if they want to save their parents and the world.
Not only does the film promise plenty of over-the-top action, but it's also set to include the return of Sharkboy (J.J. Dashnaw) and Lavagirl (Taylor Dooley). Both characters are now the parents of a young girl (YaYa Gosselin) with fantastic powers of her own, but can still be found saving the day as they've been born to do.
This movie looks to be doing it all in terms of outrageous family fun. It's colorful, surprisingly intense, packed with personality, and features massive sharks that you can ride into battle! How cool is that? The answer to that question, of course, is, very cool indeed.
WE CAN BE HEROES will be released globally on Netflix on January 1, 2021.
