WB Montreal teases new Batman Arkham game – again

The early days of Batman in video games didn't start particularly well. Batman: The Caped Crusader was an underwhelming PC game that failed to impress. Nintendo's 1989 Batman game inspired by Tim Burton's film was damn near impossible. The 1991 followup Batman: Return of the Joker was no great shakes either. It wasn't until Rocksteady released Arkham Asylum that we finally got a fully realized Batman game. Arkham Asylum and its followups Arkham City and Arkham Knight fully immersed you in the world of the Dark Knight and were a blast to play.

Most felt that with the release of Arkham Knight that heralded the end of the series. Well if WB Montreal is to be believed that may not be the case. Back in September the company released a tease on their Twitter page that said "Capture the Knight" and sported the famous Court of Owls logo – a secret society established in the Batman comicbooks. Since then things have been relatively quiet on the Arkham front – until now. This morning WB Montreal once again posted another Batman related image to their Twitter page with the same aforementioned caption. Check it out:

In addition, WB Montreal posted similar images to their Facebook and Instagram accounts only with different symbols. Several industrious Batman fans on the interwebs decided to combine said images into one and the result was the following:

When combined together the three images seem to reveal some type of mysterious sigil. Regardless of what the combined symbols actually mean it looks like a new Arkham game is very much in play. The real question is what direction a new Arkham game would go in. Bruce Wayne/Batman apparently dies at the end of Arkham Knight, although his fate is somewhat up for debate. It's always possible the game could be set between the events of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City or between Arkham City and Arkham Knight. The more important question is will Kevin Conroy return to voice the Caped Crusader? I don't know about you guys but that's a must for me.

So what do you guys think? Do these cryptic statements from WB Montreal herald a forthcoming new Arkham game? If so what should the title be? Do you like the possibility of the Court of Owls playing a significant role? Let us know in the comments below!
