THE BAD BATCH's Suki Waterhouse and the EVIL DEAD remake's Shiloh Fernandez are set to star alongside Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Josh Hutcherson, and Harry Shum Jr. in writer/director Mike Gan's thriller PLUME.
The story centers on Cobham-Hervey's character,
a lonely, unstable gas station attendant named Melinda, who is tired of being overshadowed by her more confident, outgoing co-worker Sheila (Waterhouse). When the gas station is held at gunpoint by Billy (Hutcherson), a desperate man in need of quick cash, Melinda finds an opportunity to make a connection with the robber, regardless of who gets hurt.
Fernandez will be playing Sheila's boyfriend Perry, who "finds himself unwittingly enmeshed in Melinda's dangerous games." Shum Jr.'s character is Officer Liu, "a wholesome local police officer subject to the obsessive affections of Melinda."
PLUME is being produced by Yale Productions' Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, Michael J. Rothstein, and Russ Posternak, along with Sukee Chew of Hopscotch Pictures and Ash Christian of Cranium Entertainment.
The story sounds pretty interesting to me, and the descriptions make me want to see just how Melinda's dangerous games play out.
