While the rest of the team does battle with the inter-dimensional beast known as the Abilisk, Groot (Vin Diesel) grooves his way through the opening credits of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 while blasting "Mr Blue Sky" by Electric Light Orchestra. It's a fun, not to mention adorable, way to begin the film, and just as with the first GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Groot's dance moves were supplied by none other than director James Gunn himself.
In celebration of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 crossing $800 million worldwide, James Gunn released this frustratingly short clip on Instagram featuring the director providing the reference footage for Groot's little dance.
Freaking adorable. I just wish there was more of it. With James Gunn returning to write and direct GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3, I'd imagine that we haven't seen the last of the director busting a move. As to where that third film will take us, we're not sure, but Gunn has said that it will continue the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy. "It’s going to do it in a big way," said Gunn, "and we’re going to come to an epic conclusion of who the Guardians are and why they were brought together, and I can’t wait to tell that story to the people."
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is still playing in theaters, so why not check it out if you haven't!
