After receiving a four-minute standing ovation following the premiere of Paramount's ROCKETMAN at Cannes last night, Elton John and Kingsman franchise alum Taron Egerton gave a surprise performance at the film's Cannes Gala Party.

The duo played to a packed room while performing "Rocket Man (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time)", the legendary single hailing from John's 1972 album Honky Château. As you can see from the video posted below, John took a seat behind the piano while rocking a black suit paired with glittery, heart-shaped glasses. As for Egerton, the ROBIN HOOD alum arrived dressed in black pants and an ash-chocolate blazer. Together, both John and Egerton crooned the lonely spaceman classic in perfect unison for a pitch-perfect rendition.

Directed by Dexter Fletcher from a script written by Lee Hall, ROCKETMAN is an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years. The film follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John. This inspirational story – set to Elton John’s most beloved songs and performed by star Taron Egerton – tells the universally relatable story of how a small-town boy became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture. ROCKETMAN also stars Jamie Bell as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother Sheila Farebrother.

Executive produced by Elton John, Steve Hamilton Shaw, Michael Gracey, Claudia Vaughn, Brian Oliver, with production by Matthew Vaughn, David Furnish, Adam Bohling, David Reid, ROCKETMAN is set to rock 'n' roll its way into theaters on May 31st.
