Warner Bros. sets a 2017 release date for Christopher Nolan’s next film

When your filmography consists of several movies which has grossed over a billion dollars, you can pretty much write your own ticket when it comes to the type of films you'd like to make. Christopher Nolan (INTERSTELLAR) has definitely found himself in that situation after the incredible success of his Dark Knight trilogy and has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with Warner Bros. as a result.

That relationship will continue as Warner Bros. have announced the release date of Christopher Nolan's next film and, in keeping with Nolan's penchant for secrecy, that's all we know about it. The untitled Christopher Nolan film is scheduled for a July 21, 2017 release. That's one week after WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, one week before Marvel/Sony's first SPIDER-MAN film, and the same day as PITCH PERFECT 3 and Luc Besson's VALERIAN.

Two months ago cinematographer Will McCabb tweeted that Christoper Nolan has finished a "comprehensive draft" of the screenplay for his next film, but that tidbit of information and the release date is really all we know about it so far. As this is a Christopher Nolan film we're talking about, it almost doesn't even matter what genre it could be or whether it will be an adapted or original idea, we'll most likely be discussing every little detail ad nauseam.
