Warner Bros. gets Hidden, a new spec script about a mysterious outbreak

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Damn, these outbreak thrillers are as hard to kill as the viruses they feature…

Variety has it that Warner Bros. has just procured a spec script called HIDDEN, which comes from recently graduated twin brothers Matt and Ross Duffer (seen right). The duo is also onboard to direct the picture, which the studio wants to get going in early 2012. Ready for the logline?

Word is HIDDEN is an elevated horror-thriller about a family hiding in a bomb shelter after escaping a mysterious outbreak.

So, it’s like TAKE SHELTER if Michael Shannon weren’t f*ckin’ bonkers. Or DAY OF THE DEAD with a virus in place of zombies. Either way, I’m all for a good outbreak thriller. Still haven’t seen CONTAGION, but hopefully these Duffer boys take a completely different angle with the material to make HIDDEN stand out. Or else, why even bother?

More on HIDDEN when we find it…
