There’s some interesting news coming in from Variety today. It seems Warner Bros. are taking an intriguing step and scooping up rights to Japanese manga DEATH NOTE with intensions of bringing us a live-action big screen adaptation! Nice!
DEATH NOTE follows a college student who accidentally finds a misplaced “death note,” infusing him with the power to kill merely by writing anyone’s name on the page while picturing the person in his mind. Imagine having a power like that? Intense. Would you use it regularly?
The DEATH NOTE manga ranges 13-volumes illustrated by Takeshi Obata with Tsugumi Ohba penning them. Even though there’s 13 volumes this adaptation will only be based on the first three. Warner Bros. have already pegged Charley and Vlas Parlapanides to adapt the script. Let’s hope Warner Bros. doesn’t drop the ball with this one. Make sure you keep it here for updates as we hear them.
Apparently hot chicks like dressing up as the DEATH NOTE character Misa Amane.
