Want to know what to expect from the Veronica Mars movie? Do you want to chat with Kristen Bell about it?

I am one of the many fans who loved VERONICA MARS. However, I did not donate any money to the Kickstarter because I didn’t see the reason to have a movie. I would have been perfectly fine without it, but now that it’s full steam ahead I say more power to them. And of course I want to see it.

Before I get into any plot details that might spoil the movie for you, I thought I would pass along the fact that Kristen Bell is doing a live chat on Twitter tomorrow with creator Rob Thomas. This is what Kristen tweeted to all the fans:

So now that you’ve got that info, it’s time to reveal what Veronica has been up to.

SPOILERS BELOW.

Thomas says that the perfect place to get the gang back together is the ten year Neptune reunion, “Fans want to see those all those characters back together again. And the reunion set piece allows me to do that.”

Yes, there’s more:

She transferred away from Hearst college after that freshman year and went up to Stanford and finished her undergraduate degree. And then she went to Columbia Law School. She’s certainly been back to Neptune from time to time to see her dad and Mac and Wallace, but she hasn’t worked a PI case since the last one we all saw in the final episode of Season 3. She ruined her dad’s chance for re-election and she decided that that path had caused too much chaos in her life. And so she hasn’t worked a PI case in nine years. And when we meet her, she’s sort of like where Tom Cruise was in the beginning of The Firm. She’s between having graduated and taken the bar and she’s interviewing at various law firms in New York.

Oh, and I hate to tell you, but Veronica is dating someone and it ain’t Logan. According to Thomas, the pair haven’t seen each other in nine years. Thomas didn’t give up who her new fellow was. However, Keith is still a big presence in Veronica’s life and will have a big part in the film.

But what about those who are new to the series? Thomas thinks the best way to appeal to more than just the fan base is to not get too deep in the Veronica Mars mythology:

We’re not going to get into Veronica’s backlog of cases. I want to make the movie accessible for people who haven’t watched Veronica Mars before. All you need to know is that Veronica was a teenage private eye and she’s given it up. And there will be a moment early in the movie that will bring her back to Neptune and make her give being a private detective one more shot.
