According to Deadline, a remake of Joe Don Baker's classic 1973 film Walking Tall is in development for USA Network from Battlestar Galactica producer David Eick with WWE star Charlotte Flair, daughter of WWE legend Ric Flair, slated to star.

The Walking Tall remake is being developed as a two-hour TV movie, but it's the hope that it will be successful enough to spawn sequels or a perhaps even an ongoing series. Charlotte Flair will play a "Tucson cop who finds herself caught in a web of fraud, exploitation and murder, and is forced to go full vigilante to protect her home town from falling victim to modern corruption." The originally 1973 film was followed by several sequels, a TV movie, and a short-lived TV series. Dwayne Johnson also starred in a remake of Walking Tall in 2004, which itself received two direct-to-video sequels starring Kevin Sorbo.

In addition to the Walking Tall remake, David Eick is also developing The Zone of Silence, a sci-fi adventure series that follows a "husband/wife UFO-hunting team, suffering from a strained marriage, who investigate the real-life ‘Bermuda Triangle of Mexico’, known for its bizarre phenomena and rumors of a hidden alien culture preparing for attack. If the heroes can save the world, they hope they can save their marriage."
