Director Lorcan Finnegan's science-fiction thriller VIVARIUM starring Jesse Eisenberg (THE SOCIAL NETWORK, ZOMBIELAND) and Imogen Poots (FRIGHT NIGHT, 28 WEEKS LATER, GREEN ROOM) has been acquired by Saban Films following the flick's premiered to rave reviews in the Critic’s Week section at the Cannes Film Festival.
Bill Bromiley, President of Saban Films said:
We are very impressed with Lorcan’s elevated genre piece, heightened with the strong-caliber performances of Imogen and Jesse. We are looking forward to our audiences seeing this original, smart and offbeat film.
VIVARIUM is the story of
A young couple (Poots & Eisenberg) in search of a starter home, who follow a mysterious estate agent and get trapped in a strange housing development.
This seems to be an updated (and shortened) synopsis from earlier which read:
A young woman (Poots) who, along with her fiancé (Eisenberg) is in search of the perfect starter home. After following a mysterious real estate agent to a new housing development, the couple finds themselves trapped in a maze of identical houses and forced to raise an otherworldly child.
Fantastic Films’ Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell produced in association with Lovely Productions, in co-production with Belgium’s Frakas Productions and Denmark’s Pingpong Film. XYZ executive produced and started handling global sales at Cannes. The film is directed by Lorcan Finnegan (WITHOUT NAME), produced by Brendan McCarthy (THE LAST DAYS ON MARS, WAKE WOODS) and John McDonnell (I AM NOT A SERIAL KILLER, STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT) and stars Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg.
