I hope you're ready for the robot apocalypse to continue, because HBO has renewed WESTWORLD for a fourth season!
"From the Western theme park to the technocratic metropolis of the near future, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn from the minds of master storytellers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy," HBO programming president Casey Bloys said in a statement announcing the renewal. "We can’t wait to see where their inspired vision takes us next.”
For the moment, a return date for the show that stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Tessa Thompson and Jeffrey Wright has yet to be determined.
If you've failed to climb aboard the WESTWORLD train since the series' October, 2016 premiere, the sci-fi spectacle from creators and showrunners Jonathan Nolan & Lisa Joy tells of a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the question of free will. Throughout the series, WESTWORLD has posed numerous questions to fans about the hubris of humankind, and whether or not our desire to create machines in our own image will one day lead to our undoing.
With its sleek and eye-catching sci-fi aesthetic, killer cast of fan favorite stars, and a mystery that continues to amuse and astound with every turn, WESTWORLD clearly hasn't finished dazzling fans with its clever doomsday narrative or its ability to stand as one of the most technologically-impressive shows on television.
WESTWORLD returned for its eight-episode third season on Sunday, March 15, so be sure to get yourself an HBO subscription and get caught up on all the automaton-related antics while you've got the time.
