Vince Vaughn & Kathryn Newton to body-swap in new Blumhouse horror movie

A few weeks back we passed along word (a rumor) that HAPPY DEATH DAY and HAPPY DEATH DAY 2U director Christopher Landon's new Blumhouse horror flick MIGHT be the long-rumored SCREAM reboot the House of Blum has been wanting to tackle. But today it looks like we have confirmation that Landon's new film is NOT a SCREAM reboot but – get this – a body-swapping fright flick along the lines of FREAKY FRIDAY.

Huh.

And more interesting still is the fact that the film is looking to cast BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99 and OLD SCHOOL actor Vince Vaughn in one of the lead roles alongside PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4 and DETECTIVE PIKACHU up-and-comer Kathryn Newton. The film's slim synopsis involves 

a killer who wreaks havoc in a small town.

So with today's casting in mind – along with that simple synopsis – I don't think it's by any means a stretch of the imagination to connect the dots and assume that the movie will center on Vaughn as the serial killer wreaking havoc on a small town who swaps bodies with Newton's character.
