Vince McMahon, the longtime leader of the WWE, seems to believe that there is a price for anything, even covering up his alleged misdeeds via hush money. Per The Wall Street Journal, McMahon agreed to pay more than $12 million in payments over 16 years to cover up allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity.

The payouts reportedly went to four women who were all formerly affiliated with the WWE. They signed agreements with McMahon that prohibited them from discussing potential legal claims against or even their relationships with the executive. The news comes from those familiar with the deals as well as documents that were personally reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

The settlements in question include a $7.5 million pact with a former wrestler who alleged that McMahon coerced her into giving him oral sex and then demoted her. McMahon ultimately declined to renew her contract in 2005 after she turned down further sexual encounters. The wrestler and her attorney approached McMahon in 2018 and ultimately negotiated a payout in return for her silence.

Another deal involved a WWE contractor that presented the company with unsolicited nude photos of McMahon she reported receiving from him and alleged that he had sexually harassed her on the job. Her nondisclosure agreement was set up in 2008 after McMahon agreed to pay her around $1 million.

A 2006 agreement involves a former manager who had worked for McMahon for ten years before he allegedly initiated a sexual relationship with her. She was paid $1 million to stay quiet about the encounters and it appears that this was a common pattern for the WWE executive.

A $3 million hush pact had been previously reported that involved a former WWE paralegal with whom McMahon had had an affair. The WWE Board is investigating the agreement with the former paralegal and is also looking into the 2018 deal with the former wrestler.
