The Fast and Furious franchise might be going back to being fast AND furious for the eighth film. Star Vin Diesel recently posted a promo poster on his Instagram for the next installment in the car racing turned action movie series, and besides possibly giving us a first look at the logo, the poster also seems to confirm that New York City will be the main setting for the film.
A couple of months ago, Vin Diesel said FAST & FURIOUS 8 will be set in New York, and he was thinking about his FURIOUS 7 co-star Kurt Russell when he decided on the locale for the movie.
Kurt Russell came in for this movie. But we really hired him because of a story that follows this that takes place in New York. We created somebody that I think is a mystery man. You never know his name. You never know quite what world he’s in. And we don’t, and I think that’s what’s exciting about it.
We know Dwayne Johnson will be back as Luke Hobbs in FAST & FURIOUS 8, and since his character might be getting a spinoff film, there's a good chance we will be getting more Hobbs in the next Fast and Furious flick compared to FURIOUS 7. What we don't know, though, is who will be directing the film. Is there a director you think would be a good fit for FAST & FURIOUS 8?
FAST & FURIOUS 8 is set to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
