"Everyone wants to be a beast until it's time to do what real beasts do."
Back in October, we passed along word that PITCH BLACK, THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, and RIDDICK writer-director David Twohy's RIDDICK 4: FURYA starring Vin Diesel will begin shooting next year. And today we've learned from Diesel himself that he's ready to roll as Riddick again soon.
Diesel took to Instagram to share his enthusiasm for the role (and more) for Thanksgiving, writing:
After the longest filming shoot of my career with Fast 9… A film I am so immensely proud of. Before entering the next character and film project… so much to be excited about… Fast continuation, Xander Cage, Riddick…Before all the press that coincides with the release of the various pictures next year. I must take a minute to center. To celebrate the wonderful family I have been blessed with. So grateful for the Holidays. Perfect timing I might add. Hahaha.
How excited are you to hear that writer-director David Twohy's RIDDICK 4: FURYA starring Vin Diesel is all set to begin shooting next year? Let us know below! Meanwhile, the film that kicked off the RIDDICK series (and the only one I have seen) is PITCH BLACK, which centered on
A deep space transporter which crash-lands on a desolate planet circled by three suns. Among the survivors are pilot Carolyn Fry, cop William J Johns, and convicted criminal Richard B Riddick, and their first thoughts are of survival and escape. Then Fry finds out that the planet suffers a total eclipse every 22 years, which is when the hibernating, flesh-eating inhabitants awake and hunt.
Directed by David Twohy from a screenplay he co-wrote along with Jim and Ken Wheat (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER, AFTER MIDNIGHT) PITCH BLACK was produced by Tom Engelman and starred Vin Diesel, Radha Mitchell, Keith David, and Cole Hauser. USA Films released the film into theaters on February 18, 2000. For those of you that don't already own the movie, you can snag a copy on Blu-ray HERE.
