Video: Stranger Things cast gathers for a season 4 table read

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It's a tradition that Netflix offers glimpses of Stranger Things table reads when a new season goes into production, and they have stuck with that tradition now that the fourth season of the show is filming.

In the video embedded above, we get a look behind the scenes as cast members Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Maya Hawke, and Brett Gelman gather together for a script table read. Of course, we don't get to see or hear anything from the script.

The fact that Harbour's character Jim Hopper is back for the new season was spoiled by a teaser trailer that was released a few weeks ago (you can see that below), along with a statement from the show's creators The Duffer Brothers:

We're excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although it's not all good news for our 'American'; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other.

Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.

Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime, pray for the American.

While the first and third seasons had eight episodes, there's a rumor going around that season 4 will have nine episodes, just like season 2. A premiere date for the season has not yet been announced.
