According to THR, Victoria Mahoney – who was the second unit director on THE RISE OF SKYWALKER – is in talks to helm the feature film adaptation of the action-packed graphic novel KILL THEM ALL by Kyle Starks. Here's the official synopsis:
Described as a love letter to 1990s action movies, Stark’s Kill Them All tells of a betrayed murderess on a revenge campaign and a hard-drinking former cop who team up to take down a crime lord. Their nemesis rules from atop a 15-story Miami high-rise, so the duo must go floor by floor cutting through assassins, murderers, Luchadore gang bosses, ex-boyfriends and office workers.
Sounds cool to me! Basically a more cartoonish and over-the-top THE RAID (which was plenty over-the-top itself!) And while Mahoney made history as the first woman (as well as woman of color) in the STAR WARS franchise as a second unit director (and whatever faults that movie had, its action and location shooting weren't one of them), she's also no slouch in the directing department either – having directed the Zoe Kravitz vehicle YELLING AT THE SKY, as well as episodes of POWER, AMERICAN CRIME, and the upcoming LOVECRAFT COUNTY.
No official release or start date announced yet, of course, but we'll keep you posted!
