V/H/S/99 is now available on Blu-ray and DVD

The horror anthology V/H/S/99, which was released through the Shudder streaming service, is now available on Blu-ray and DVD

Released through the Shudder streaming service last October, the horror anthology film V/H/S/99 quickly became the most-watched film in the history of Shudder. It’s a good thing they already greenlit another sequel – V/H/S/85 – for this year. But while we wait to see how V/H/S/85 is going to turn out, RLJE Films has given V/H/S/99 a Blu-ray, DVD, and steelbook release – and copies can be purchased at THIS LINK.

The story segments that make up V/H/S/99 were directed by Maggie Levin (Into The Dark: My Valentine), Johannes Roberts (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City), Flying Lotus (Kuso), Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls), and Joseph & Vanessa Winter (Deadstream). Here’s the synopsis: V/H/S/99 harkens back to the final punk rock analog days of VHS, while taking one giant leap forward into the hellish new millennium. In V/H/S/99, a thirsty teenager’s home video leads to a series of horrifying revelations.

Josh Goldbloom produced V/H/S/99 for Cinepocalypse. The film was also produced by Brad Miska for Bloody Disgusting, David Bruckner, filmmaking collective Radio Silence, and James Harris. It was executive produced by Michael Schreiber and Adam Boorstin for Studio71.

The movie comes to physical media with over three hours of bonus features, including:

Filmmaker Commentary – Exclusive Panel from Reedpop’s New York Comic Con – Deleted Scenes – “Shredding” BitchCat Music Video – “The Gawkers” camera test and The Making of Medusa – “To Hell and Back” Storyboards and Location Scouting – Bloopers – And more!

Although our own Chris Bumbray gave the film a 6 in his review, he also said that it was a fun midnight movie and when it came to the story segments “there are no stinkers in the bunch”. Although I have watched the other V/H/S/ movies, I still haven’t gotten around to watching V/H/S/99 yet. Found footage just isn’t something I rush to see.

Have you watched V/H/S/99, and will you be picking up a copy on Blu-ray or DVD? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
