Every child of the 80s will remember going to the video store and trying to find a movie to rent. Back before the days of Blu-ray and On Demand, selecting a movie usually meant finding the flick with the coolest box art. Like modern posters, classic VHS art has been lost but thanks to the Internet there are countless reminders of these cool creations. This column will be dedicated to bringing you reminders of a bygone era and a look at how cool some of these movies looked on store shelves.

ILSA, SHE WOLF OF THE SS

If you watch one Nazi-sploitation movie, make it ILSA. Basically a sadistic soft core porn movie with lots of violence and swastikas, ILSA is a unique movie that would never get made today. Click here to purchase on Blu-ray/DVD.

THE BLOB

While the classic Steve McQueen version may be better, the 1980s version of THE BLOB is it's own, crazy movie in it's own right. Definitely a cheese-fest but a damn fun one. Click here to purchase on Blu-ray/DVD.

THE DEVIL'S HONEY

A sexy woman smoking a cigarette with a wolf sitting behind her? I don't care what the plot is, I must see it  Click here to purchase on Blu-ray/DVD.

C.H.U.D.

There are two types of people: those who know what C.H.U.D. stands for and everyone else. Click here to purchase on Blu-ray/DVD.

DEMON WIND

The first cover for DEMON WIND reminds me of an 8-bit video game cover but I cannot remember which one. But, if you watch the trailer, you will know neither cover really has much to do with the movie itself. Click here to purchase on Blu-ray/DVD.

COBRA MISSION

If only the actual G.I. JOE movies could look as cool as these covers. Man, I really miss these war mission movies. They just don't make them like they used to. Not currently available on Blu-Ray/DVD.
