Veronica Ferres joins Nic Cage, Sarah Wayne Callies in Pay the Ghost

A few weeks ago we learned that Nicolas Cage had been tapped to star in the upcoming supernatural thriller PAY THE GHOST, to be directed by Uli Edelfrom Dan Kay’s adapted screenplay from a short story of the same name by Tim Lebbon. We later learned that "The Walking Dead" actress Sarah Wayne Callies had signed to to co-star as the estranged wife of Cage's character. Now Screen Daily is reporting that German actress Veronica Ferres is set to join Cage and Callies for the film.

Here's what we know about PAY THE GHOST:

Cage will star as a professor whose young son goes missing during a Halloween parade in New York City. One year later he begins to sense his son’s presence and uncovers clues leading to a vicious and vengeful ghost that surfaces each Halloween to abduct children.

No word on which character Ferres is playing in the film.

Uli Edel (BODY OF EVIDENCE) is directing the supernatural thriller from a script by Dan Kay, based on a short story by horror and fantasy author Tim Lebbon. Nicolas Chartier, Craig Flores, Ian Levy and Patrick Newall are producing and Cybill Lui and Dennis Berardi are exec producers. Filming is slated to begin next month in Toronto.
