I'm thinking the new GODZILLA is quickly becoming one of the top must-see flicks in recent years. I'm not specifically singling out the cast. After all the best news I, personally, have heard yet on the GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS front is that TRICK R TREAT and KRAMPUS director Michael Dougherty is helming the flick this time around. That was enough for me!
To make matter better and better, then we learned that STRANGER'S THING's Eleven herself, Millie Bobby Brown was joining the cast. After that we learned Kyle Chandler was to be playing her daddy-o. And now today we get word that Eleven's mamma has been cast.
Yes, that's right, Vera Farmiga will play the mother of Millie Bobby Brown in the Godzilla sequel!
There hasn't been much word on the plot/premise of the new GODZILLA flick, or for that matter, how exactly it will tie into the upcoming KONG VS GODZILLA flick, but that said, there was one bit of plot released in the THR article. Turns out Kyle Chandler will be playing the film's hero. Which is pretty funny since Chandler went up against KING KONG way back when Peter Jackson took the reins.
Either way, heroine or not, I'm looking forward to Vera joining in on the monster-stomping. As I have said before, she has a quality about her that seems to elevate any of the genre work is a part of.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is slated for release on March 22, 2019.
