Hulu has unsheathed a trailer for their upcoming original animated series from the producers of ROBOT CHICKEN, titled CROSSING SWORDS. The upcoming animation revolves around the goodhearted hero wannabe Patrick, who lands his dream job as a squire, only to learn the royal castle is a corrupt hornet's nest of horny monarchs, crooks and charlatans. Was, murder, full frontal nudity – who knew brightly colored peg people led such exciting lives?
Created and written by John Harvatine IV and Tom Root (Executive Producers of Robot Chicken), with Harvatine IV also directing, the cast of CROSSING SWORDS is led by MAD MAX: FURY ROAD veteran Nicholas Hoult. Joining Hoult for the off-color medieval animated comedy are stars Adam Ray, Tara Strong, Tony Hale, Luke Evans, Seth Green, Alanna Ubach, Adam Pally, Yvette Nicole Brown, Maya Erskine, Breckin Meyer and Wendi McClendon-Covey.
Given Harvatine IV and Root's history of delivering tear-jerking sketch comedy via ROBOT CHICKEN, I can only hope that the duo has something equally as hilarious in mind for CROSSING SWORDS. Some would argue that laughter is in short supply these days, and so it would be amazing if this series came out swinging with laugh-out-loud takes on failed leadership, archaic forms of punishment, and a good old fashioned orgy.
Hulu will debut all 10 episodes of CROSSING SWORDS Season 1 on June 12, 2020.
