Venom: Let There Be Carnage clip interrupts an execution

Serial killer Cletus Kasady (played by Woody Harrelson) was in prison when journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) met him in the mid-credits scene in Ruben Fleischer’s 2018 Marvel Comics adaptation Venom (watch it HERE), and Kasady is back as the main villain in director Andy Serkis’s sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which is set to reach theatres on October 1st. If you’re curious to see how Kasady escapes from prison to wreak havoc as the symbiote-coated maniac Carnage in the new film, a clip has arrived online to give an idea of how things go down. Another batch of clips can be seen below. Beyond what’s shown in the clips and trailers, we don’t know much about what happens in this movie, because Venom: Let There Be Carnage – which was scripted by Kelly Marcel, who crafted the story with Hardy – doesn’t have much of a synopsis:

Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of MARVEL’s greatest and most complex characters.

The actors mentioned above are joined in the cast by Michelle Williams as Eddie Brock’s ex Anne Weying; Reid Scott as Doctor Dan Lewis, Anne’s boyfriend; Sean Delaney in an unspecified role; Naomie Harris as the villainous character Shriek; and Stephen Graham as Detective Patrick Mulligan. In the comics, Mulligan also gets coated with a symbiote and becomes a character called Toxin, “more powerful than Venom and Carnage combined”. 

While this film is based on Marvel Comics characters, it is not officially connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead, it’s part of what Sony is calling their Spider-Man Universe – formerly known as the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, some strong language, disturbing material, and suggestive references.
