The jaws. The scales. The suspenders. Ladies and gents, it’s the showdown of the year (second to EXPENDABLES) and it’s coming to you thanks to the creative talent at Asylum Home Entertainment.
Asylum will be releasing the sequel to MEGA SHARK VS. GIANT OCTOPUS later this year. As if you already didn’t know, the presumed winner of the original big-baddie fight will take on the giant sized creature. The results? MEGA SHARK VS. CROCASURUS! The film will hit DVD shelves on December 21st of this year in an effort to put cheesy smiles on people’s face for the holidays.
Jaleel White (Urkel from FAMILY MATTERS) will star in the film along with Robert Picardo, Gary Stretch (ALEXANDER), and Sarah Lieving (SUPER SHARK ATTACK). Director Chris Ray will return to oversee the massive monsters duke it out again as he returns to the director’s chair once more. What should we expect from the next installment? The massive prehistoric shark returns victorious from its smackdown with a super-sized cephalopod to face a more dangerous opponent in the form a “crocosaurus” discovered in the jungles of Africa with the fate of the world somehow at stake.
Sounds like an hour and a half of cheesy goodness, especially if Jaleel White will reprise his role as Urkel…but that may be asking for too much. We’re only a few months away from the film’s release date and I can expect a trailer and some art swinging by our direction. Are you guys excited for the new sequel? I treated the original film the way it was meant to be treated: like a campy sci-fi monster flick. Nothing more. In that sense, I was pleasantly surprised by how cheesy it was. It actually changed my definition of “air jaws”. Send your comments below and let us know what you think about the Big Mac sized shark taking on the croc.
