Untitled Richard Linklater college movie slated for April of 2016

Fans of Richard Linklater (BOYHOOD) may have heard about his spiritual successor to DAZED AND CONFUSED and BOYHOOD, which was dubbed THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. The film follows a group of college freshmen as they work their way through the first year of college life and try to make the baseball team. As of now, the film still has no title, although IMDb currently has it listed as EVERYBODY WANTS SOME. Apt title for a college flick, so we'll see if it sticks comes its theatrical release on April 15, 2016.

DAZED aside, I never though Richard Linklater would create something that struck a nerve with me the way his BEFORE trilogy does. Okay, I still think that, but BOYHOOD was an amazing cinematic experience. I get the folks who can't get into it, but that film ripped the lid off of 2014 for me! In any event, his next film is an eagerly anticipated one and when you start throwing terms around like "spiritual successor to DAZED AND CONFUSED", that just builds the hype even more. Let's get an official title for this thing already!

Linklater's freshman film will hit theaters on April 15, 2016.

Here's hoping the soundtrack will be just as good as DAZED AND CONFUSED's!
