It’s just so pretty…
That was my initial reaction to the trailer for Martin Scorsese’s HUGO. After taking all of it in, I realized that I just watched a trailer for a Scorsese film that wasn’t filled with killing, crime, and colorful language.
It’s all very enchanting from start to finish. I never read the book the film is based on by Brian Selznick so it’s impossible for me to have an opinion on whether this paints the same picture. That aside, it looks like Scorsese may have successfully made a family film. As if there were any doubts. Well, I didn’t doubt him anyway. Still don’t care for the title change though.
Check it out below.
“Hugo tells the story of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. With the help of an eccentric girl, he searches for the answer to a mystery linking the father he recently lost, the ill-tempered toy shop owner living below him and a heart shaped lock, seemingly without a key. Based on Brian Selznick’s award winning and imaginative New York Times bestseller, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, this magical tale is Academy Award(R)-winner Martin Scorsese’s first film shot in 3D.”
