Universal Pulls The Hunt from Theatrical Release Due to Mass Shootings

It seems as a result of a couple of pathetic, piece-of-shit cowards, Universal has pulled Blumhouse's THE HUNT from its intended theatrical release date of September 27, 2019. Here is the studio's statement as reported by Deadline:

"While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film.  We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.”

Hey, man, I get it. The subject matter of THE HUNT hits a bit too close to home currently. I believe this is a respectful thing to do and while some may think "It's not real! It's just a movie! Stop being so sensitive!" these are different and trying times. Yeah, nobody wants to insult anybody and sometimes, dickless, scumbag pussies with guns do horrific acts. Some think the cause is one thing while others think it's another. Basically, there is no pleasing everyone… but I refuse to take on a we're f*cked mentality. I want the hunt for solid solutions to continue.

THE HUNT was produced by Jason Blu and Damon Lindelof, directed by Craig Zobel and stars Ike Barinholtz (SUICIDE SQUAD, NEIGHBORS), Betty Gilpin (GLOW, ISN'T IT ROMANTIC), Emma Roberts (WE'RE THE MILLERS, SCREAM 4) and Hilary Swank (MILLION DOLLAR BABY, BOYS DON'T CRY). There is no word yet as to when the film will be released or on what platform. Here's the plot:

In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a bunch of elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of the hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin, GLOW), knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (two-time Oscar® winner Hilary Swank) at the center of it all.
