I like it. I like it a lot!
Warner Bros. loss is Universal’s gain. The studio has not only picked up DUMB AND DUMBER TO, but has also locked down Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, and the Farrelly brothers. Red Granite stepped up financially offering up $35 million going to the budget and international sales.
What’s even better? The movie will go into production very quickly. One usually might be scared of that, however, the passion to make a sequel is there. The characters of Harry and Lloyd are gold, and it will be no problem for Carrey and Daniels to get back into the swing of things. The reason for the rush has to do with scheduling. Daniels has to get back to THE NEWSROOM, and Carrey has a bank heist comedy directed by Jared Hess to do co-starring Owen Wilson.
The first draft of the script was written by Sean Anders and John Morris with a rewrite from the Farrelly brothers. All we know about the plot is that Harry and Lloyd will go on another road trip.
