Casting for CBS’ upcoming Stephen King adapted series UNDER THE DOME has been rolling in at a steady pace over the last few weeks. All of the names attached so far were all just leading up to this one — the villainous role. According to TV Line, the evil character of Big Jim will be played by BREAKING BAD’S Dean Norris and what a pleasant surprise it is. He’s a very charismatic actor who does one helluva job on BREAKING BAD so I couldn’t be happier with this news.
Aside from the main character, Dale “Barbie” Barbara, who will be played by Mike Vogel (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), Big Jim is easily the second most important piece to the puzzle. Norris will play Big Jim, the successful owner of Chester’s Mill’s used car dealership and also a town councilman, an office he takes very seriously. I’ve been okay with the casting so far but getting Dean Norris is completely spot on and I for one can’t wait to see if he can become as evil as Big Jim is in King’s novel.
UNDER THE DOME is the story of a small New England town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from and if and when it will go away.
Norris will star alongside Britt Robertson, Aisha Hinds, Mike Vogel, Natalie Martinez, Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong, Alex Koch and Colin Ford. Get ready for the June 24th premiere date as this is one set to trap you UNDER THE DOME.
