The upcoming comic book adaptation of I, FRANKENSTEIN has been pretty quiet on the marketing front, but with Comic Con looming on the horizon, it looks to be kicking into gear, starting with the first official still from the film. Looking better “dead” than most do alive, Aaron Eckhart stands tall and shredded as the titular character, looking every bit as bad ass and imposing as Frankenstein should…albeit a lot “prettier” than we’re used to. Eckhart’s last foray into comic book territory yeilded a tremendous performance as Harvey “Two Face” Dent in Christopher Nolan‘s THE DARK KNIGHT, so the actor is savvy to the genre at this point.

Here’s a synopsis:
Frankenstein’s creature finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
I’m certainly intrigued by this project, especially with veteran screenwriter Stuart Beattie (COLLATERAL, 30 DAYS OF NIGHT) at the helm with a script by Kevin Grevioux (UNDERWORLD). There is promise here. Let’s hope for some footage at Comic Con next week!
I, FRANKENSTEIN, starring Aaron Eckhart, Jai Courtney, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Kevin Grevioux, and Miranda Otto is set to debut on January 24, 2014.
