Based upon the classic gothic YA novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, DOWN A DARK HALL finds Kit Gordy (AnnaSophia Robb), a difficult young girl, being sent to the mysterious Blackwood Boarding School when her heated temper becomes too much for her mother to handle. Run by the eccentric headmistress Madame Duret (Uma Thurman), Blackwood is home to four other young women who are also headed down a troubled path. It's while exploring the labyrinthine corridors of the school that Kit and her new friends discover that Blackwood hides an age-old secret rooted in the paranormal. Ruh oh.
Lionsgate Premiere have released the first trailer for the Rodrigo Cortés (BURIED) film and it doesn't look half bad, which makes me wonder why the studio felt the need to slap "From the Producers of The Twilight Saga" over it. Sure, "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer is listed as one of the many producers, but that doesn't exactly do DOWN A DARK HALL any favours.
DOWN A DARK HALL is set to hit select theaters, On Demand, and iTunes on August 17, 2018.
