Back in November, we heard that Magnet Releasing has acquired the worldwide rights to director Rob Schroeder’s feature debut Ultrasound, a sci-fi psychological thriller starring Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men) that’s based on the Generous Bosom comic books by Conor Stechschulte. At that time, we knew that Magnet was planning to release Ultrasound in theatres sometime in 2022 – and the release date is now very close. The film reaches theatres and VOD this Friday, March 11th. To get a look at what Ultrasound has in store for us, check out the trailer embedded above.
Stechschulte wrote this adaptation of his “mind-boggling” story. The film centers on
Glen (Kartheiser), who is stranded by two flat tires on a rainy night and must seek help at a nearby house. There, he’s welcomed in by Art (Bob Stephenson), who cajoles him into sleeping with his younger wife Cyndi (Chelsea Lopez). Glen’s unease only escalates when, a short time later, the consequences of this strange night begin to spiral out of control. Glen and Cyndi soon find themselves at the center of a web of deception and manipulation that tests the foundations of reality.
Kartheiser, Stephenson (Jericho), and Lopez (T@gged) are joined in the cast by Breeda Wool (Mr. Mercedes), Tunde Adebimpe (She Dies Tomorrow) and Rainey Qualley (Shut In).
Schroeder produced the film with Charlie Prince and Georg Kallert of Lodger Films. Justin Allen and Shayna Schroeder serve as executive producers.
Magnet’s Eamonn Bowles had this to say about Ultrasound:
Rob Schroeder and his stellar cast take us through the looking glass in this mind-scrambling thriller.”
Schroeder added that “this story by Conor Stechschulte has been a long obsession for me and a dream to adapt with such talented and determined collaborators.”
