Just under a year ago, it was announced that JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI writer/director Tom McLoughlin would be making a special contribution to Friday the 13th: The Game – he would be writing "The Pamela Tapes", audio recordings that players will be able to collect during a match and listen to later in the menu system. Recordings that would give further insight into the character of Pamela Voorhees, mother of iconic slasher Jason Voorhees.
The vocal performances of Pamela on these tapes was delivered by actress Jen Burton, and you can hear Burton at work right now in the clip below, which contains the first two volumes of the Pamela Tapes, put online by the game's developers ahead of its May 26th release date.
There is a continuity issue within these first volumes (Jason was 11 when he drowned, not 12), but putting the fan nitpicking aside these audio recordings promise to be a fascinating bonus feature.
Burton's fellow F13 game cast members include veteran Jason performer Kane Hodder, who has brought the character to life for the game through a motion capture performance; Kristina Klebe as camp counselor Jenny Myers; and Thom Mathews, reprising the role of Tommy Jarvis from JASON LIVES.
Friday the 13th: The Game was made with the blessing of Sean S. Cunningham, director of the original FRIDAY THE 13TH – in which Pamela Voorhees was the killer. Series composer Harry Manfredini provided the score. Legendary special effects artist Tom Savini designed some of the kills and also came up with a new look for Jason, creating "Hell Jason".
