After seeing two separate versions of the character on-screen over the course of 15 years, audiences will probably be wondering how long the Tom Holland iteration will be around before they have to see yet another actor crying over the death of Uncle Ben. Chances are though this new Spider-Man is here for the long haul, and he’s gonna make his grand, feature-length entrance in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. Below are two new trailers for the flick, which separately may have a different focus, but together they show off why this could be the best SPIDER-MAN movie in years. I'll bet my boss' mortgage payment on it.
Here's the U.S. trailer:
And the international one:
The first trailer puts more focus on Peter Parker (Holland) trying to navigate herodom and high-school, while numero two is all about the plot, action and more Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Together you get a great idea of what the final product will look like and so far I love what I’m seeing. The fact that Parker is a kid trying to deal with his new powers is one of the most relateable aspects of the character in the comic books, and I think this movie is going to emphasize that more than the other versions did. They seemed to have nailed his humor and angst with Holland driving it all home. There's also Avengers around in these films, so gotta squeeze them into the trailers I suppose. Nothing wrong with some more Iron Man.
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING arrives July 7.
