We’ve got a grab bag of DIE HARD goodies for you today with two new featurettes and another clip from the fifth entry in the series, A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD. Starring Bruce Willis and Jai Courtney as father-and-son McClane, the duo battle a group of Russian thugs in their homeland, while trying not to kill each other. You know the drill. We’re not exactly in Oscar territory (and inching further and further away from DIE HARD territory).
The first featurette is a pretty solid and in-depth look at the film, featuring interviews with both Willis and Courtney and a few nuggets of new footage tossed in to spruce it up. I thought it was cool and it gave me the feeling that this movie, if nothing else, will be a satisfying romp. Check it out below:
The second featurette is another one of those B-roll featurettes with a smattering of behind-the-scenes raw footage. These are interesting, but I often find myself skipping through them rather than sitting through them. Take a skip:
And, lastly, we have another new clip, this time of McClane and son rolling up on a terrorist hideout and loading up for their surprise attack. Their lack of a plan of attack could potentially be a metaphor for how the movie plays out. “We’ll just go in guns blazing, y’know, make it up as we go.” Oh yeah. That’s how I’d attack if the odds weren’t in my favor. Load up:
I’m still optimistic about the movie, but not that it will be a rip-roaring DIE HARD film, just a fun action romp. I’m going in with low expectations, but still with hope for a good show. From what I’ve seen this far, that’s all I’m expecting and that’s just fine.
A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD opens on February 14, 2013.
