Marvel Studios isn't the only game in town when it comes to pumping out movies based on Marvel characters, Twentieth Century Fox owns the rights to some of the biggest Marvel characters there are, and the studio seems keen to keep up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The studio already has several Marvel movies dated, including NEW MUTANTS on April 13, 2018, DEADPOOL 2 on June 1, 2018, and X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX on November 2, 2018, but they've recently planted their flag on six more dates reserved for as-yet-unannounced Marvel movies. Let's see where we need to need to make notes on our calendar.
Alright, now which Marvel movies will land on those dates? We know that Twentieth Century Fox has X-FORCE, DEADPOOL 3, and GAMBIT in various stages of development, so those are a good bet, but what about the rest? They could be anything from another sequel in the main X-MEN saga to a third attempt at FANTASTIC FOUR, if only to keep the rights from falling back into the hands of Marvel. Development on a FANTASTIC FOUR film which would focus on Franklin and Valeria, the children of Reed and Sue Richards, was rumoured just last week, but we'd be advised to take that with a grain of salt. Even still, I can't imagine Fox letting the FANTASTIC FOUR franchise sit neglected for too long.
X-MEN franchise producer Simon Kinberg, who will be making his directorial debut with X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, has teased that the studio may also look at other mutant-based teams such as Alpha Flight or Exiles as the basis for more X-MEN movies. Kinberg also added that a spin-off centering around X-23 (Dafne Keen) from the recent LOGAN wasn't out of the realm of possibility. Either way, there are certainly plenty of options for the studio to keep their corner of the Marvel franchise trucking along.
