TV spot: Superheroes exist in Shyamalan’s Unbreakable/Split sequel Glass

Eighteen years ago, right when comic book movies were about to start down the path to becoming the dominant force they are at the box office today, writer/director M. Night Shyamalan crafted his own grounded, real world version of a superhero origin story with the film UNBREAKABLE. After introducing a supervillain with his 2016 film SPLIT, Shyamalan is bringing the characters from those films together, and pitting them against each other, in the upcoming mash-up GLASS.

We're just two months away from the theatrical release of GLASS, and a TV spot has been released to give us a preview of some cool visuals and dialogue, and to get across that this is a story of "real life superheroes".

Bruce Willis reprises his UNBREAKABLE role of the heroic David Dunn, with Samuel L. Jackson also returning from UNBREAKABLE as the villainous Elijah Price, a.k.a. Mr. Glass. They're joined in the cast by SPLIT star James McAvoy as his character Kevin Wendell Crumb, a man with many personalities, including a superhuman one called The Beast.

GLASS finds

Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

Co-stars also include Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodard, both back from UNBREAKABLE as Dunn's son and Price's mother, respectively; Anya Taylor-Joy, back as SPLIT heroine Casey Cooke; and Sarah Paulson.

Shyamalan produced GLASS with Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, Ashwin Rajan, and Marc Bienstock. Steven Schneider, Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum, and Kevin Frakes served as executive producers.

GLASS arrives in theatres on January 18, 2019. You can see the new TV spot right here, right now:
