Did you know that before going on to make such mega-blockbusters such as GODZILLA and ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY director Gareth Edwards had only ever made a low budget creature feature shot for a mere $500,000?
True story. It was called MONSTERS and it is inventive as hell. I highly recommend checking out the flick asap. Especially considering today's news.
Today it seems that MONSTERS will become a TV series via Vertigo Films for UK broadcaster Channel 4. The series is currently in development with Ronan Bennett acting as showrunner and Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith writing.Â
The show's producers are currently looking for a major U.S. partner to finance and distribute the series ala Netflix and Amazon, and Edwards will likely be involved in the series in some capacity.
We'll let you know once we hear more on MONSTERS: THE TV SERIES but until then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think of the original film in the comments below or on social media.
MONSTERS (2010) synopsis:

While covering the conflict, a photojournalist (Scoot McNairy) gets uncomfortably close to the action when he escorts his boss's daughter (Whitney Able) through the zone to the U.S. border…
