Tom Brooke (Game of Thrones, Sherlock) has been added to the cast of AMC's Preacher pilot from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, joining Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun. Deadline is reporting that the British actor has snagged a series regular role on the upcoming television adaptation of the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon comic as Fiore, one of the two Adephi angels sent to Earth to bring back Genesis. Besides his small screen work, Brooke has also appeared in movies such as THE BOAT THAT ROCKED (known as PIRATE RADIO in the United States) and THE VETERAN. Filming is underway for Preacher, an if ordered to series, it will premiere on AMC in 2016.
In other TV casting news, Mimi Rogers will play Suzy Maxwell, Kelly's (Dana DeLorenzo) mother in the Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead. THR says her character will have to "deal with an uncomfortable family reunion even as she also has to confront some uninvited guests." Bruce "The Chin" Campbell will be back as Ash, and Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago and Jill Marie Jones will also star in the ten-episode first season of the show. Ash vs Evil Dead is currently filming in New Zealand, and is set to debut on Starz this fall.
