Turtle Power! Raphael has been cast for Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Alan Ritchson, former Aquaman and future co-star in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, has joined the Michael Bay produced Ninja Turtles as the sai-wielding, hot-tempered, red-bandanna wearing Raphael.  The Jonathan Liebesman directed pic already has Megan Fox cast as April O’Neil and is now waiting to fill three more shells; Leondardo, Michaelangelo, and Donatello.  I know quite a few people would like to see Corey Feldman reprise his role as Donatello, but he’d have to be well-prepared for some mo-cap suit action if that were the case, as it would be much more work than standing in front of a mic.  Ritchson is obviously an actor who can meet the physical demands; but I’m not sure about the actual performance part.

There’s plenty of controversy surrounding NINJA TURTLES, from the early script leak rumors, budgetary concerns, and of course the casting of Megan Fox.  I think this one will be plagued from start to finish, honestly, but guess what?  I’ll be there opening weekend, as I suspect many Turtle fans will be.  I still think it’s a little early to call it and remain cautiously optimistic.

NINJA TURTLES is slated for release on June 6, 2014.

This is relevant to the story, right?

If not, this is for sure…
