Tupac Shakur was a prolific, controversial, and, to many, an inspirational musician. He helped change the face of rap music during his too-short career, and during that time lived an eventful and, quite frankly, movie-ready life. So it's not a surprise that there's a biopic in the works, only that it took so long for it to get here.
Anyway, the new film ALL EYEZ ON ME, starring newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. at Tupac, is eyeing a June 16th, 2017 release date. That seems like a good sign, as it looks like the studio has a lot of faith in the film, since this is going to be one crowded summer.
The film, about the rise and fall of Shakur, is directed by Benny Boom, written by Ed Gonzalez, and co-stars Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Annie Ilonzeh, Dominic L. Santana, Jamal Woolard, Keith Robinson and Cory Hardrict.
